Branding Headshots Sample Session

Are you camera shy?

Would you rather put pins in your eyes than get in front of the camera?

Well, let me tell you, you are not alone my friend : ) In fact, it’s often the first thing that people tell me at their consultation: “I’m awkward in front of a camera,” or “I’m camera shy” or my personal favorite, “I absolutely hate having my photo taken and I would rather get a root canal than have to pose for a photo”.

Please believe me when I say it’s perfectly natural to feel this way. We’ve all seen an awful photo of ourselves at some point in our lives- the kind of photo snapped by a well-meaning friend in bad light that shows every little line on our face at an angle that adds 10 pounds and a double chin that leaves us wondering, “My God, do I l really look like that?”

The good news is that, no, you don’t actually look like that. At all. In fact, I’m going to bet money that you’re about 100 times more beautiful than you realize. And the proof is in the pudding- my guarantee to everyone I photograph is that we’ll take truly beautiful portraits of you during your photo shoot (be they glamour or boudoir portraits or branding headshots for your LinkedIn).

Today’s featured portraits are of a client who, like so many, was not previously a fan of being photographed. In fact, after we initially connected, it was about another 2 years before she finally took the plunge and booked her session : )

This is what she said about her experience in her 5-star Google review:

After over a year of procrastinating getting headshots I was so glad I had booked getting these done with Laura. While I love the results, Laura made me comfortable with the process and was so supportive that coming into the photoshoot I was prepared and felt good about it. It takes talent to do that and Laura's work is amazing.

I was so thrilled to be able to show this wonderful lady that a photo shoot is nothing to stress over. Indeed, it’s something to look forward to. It’s a fun day of pampering, of looking and feeling your best, of leaving at the end of the day with a big smile on your face, and then about 7 days later getting to see the most beautiful portraits of yourself that you have ever seen.
